This striking pendant features a dyed palm root cabochon, alive with swirling shades of ocean blue, green, warm terracotta and rust. The natural patterns within the palm root create an almost landscape-like effect — a tiny meeting place between earth and sea.

I’ve wrapped the stone by hand in silver jewellery wire, allowing the unusual crescent shape and colouring of the palm root to remain the focus. The detailed woven bail adds texture and an artisan finish while keeping the piece beautifully organic.

Finished on a long 27-inch stainless steel chain, this is designed as an easy statement necklace that sits lower on the chest and works beautifully over dresses, knits and simple tops.

About Palm Root

Palm root is formed from the fossilised or mineralised root structures of ancient palm trees, creating the distinctive cellular and swirling patterns seen within the stone. Dye is sometimes used to bring those natural patterns dramatically to life — in this piece, the meeting of blue-green and fiery rust gives it an almost elemental quality.

Because the patterning is created by nature, there will never be another stone exactly like this one.
